NEC appoints Filip Cogghe to its Transportation team
Filip will lead strategic business development across EMEA
Munich, 15 March 2019 – NEC Display Solutions Europe has appointed Filip Cogghe as Senior Manager of its EMEA Transportation practice as the company seeks to build on its strong growth in the sector.
Filip joined NEC in 2008 where he has been responsible for regional sales in Benelux. Following his promotion, Filip will help to drive even stronger engagement and sales in public transportation.
NEC has a proud pedigree in this industry, helping to transform the passenger experience across a range of transport modes. Customers benefit from the capabilities of the latest display technologies such as direct view LED screens and ultra-high definition (UHD) large format displays to improve the way they deliver wayfinding and passenger information, as well as maximising the impact of retail advertising.
In his new role, Filip will focus on solutions for railway, trams, metro and suburban rail.
Other highlights of NEC’s presence at Passenger Terminal EXPO include:
Filip brings a wealth of technical, market and sales experience to his new role. Before joining the company he worked as Business Unit Manager at an NEC AV distributor in Benelux.
“The passenger experience is undergoing a revolution across Europe, as transport providers seek new, more compelling ways to engage with travellers,” said Richard Wilks, Director of Transportation at NEC Display Solutions. “Up-to-date display information is a key part of an unforgettable transport experience, but it’s about much more than just installing screens. It’s also about making sure that the technology can fulfil its potential; for example, through harnessing real-time data for intelligent wayfinding or driving footfall to retailers through more effective advertising.”
“No-one knows our business, our technology and the market better than Filip. He will play a key role as we seek to educate transport providers’ on the potential applications of new display technologies, and bring a better travel experience to passengers across the continent.,”
